Amy Kappele, M.Ed
Director of Student Success
Amy Kappele has been an educator for over 25 years. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, a Masters of Arts in Early Childhood Education, and a Certificate of Advanced Study in Reading. She is also a certified K-12 reading specialist.
Amy has taught in Illinois for the past 20 years, and has been a kindergarten and first grade classroom teacher. She was an early intervention coordinator for a K/1 program called Partners in Reading, and has been a K-5 reading specialist for the past 11 years. She was also the certified administrative coordinator for her elementary school.
Amy taught multiple programs and classes with Literacy Tree before taking on the role of Director of Student Success. In this capacity, Amy focuses on ensuring the success of our students, teachers and programs, overall monitoring of the data and health of each student’s progress, and engagement with our families to ensure success.
Amy is a mom and grandmother, and loves to travel and spend time with them. She enjoys hiking in Arizona and Michigan, and is an avid outdoors person who spends time running, biking and walking. She’s also a frequent charity volunteer.
