Convenient, Online, Live Instruction By Certified Reading Specialists

Whether your child is falling through the cracks at school, or you are struggling to teach your homeschooled child to read, we are here to help!

Public & Private School Students

Whether your child has an IEP that isn’t helping to meet their goals, or if your child is falling behind in their classroom and not reading on grade level, we will give them the instruction they need to read on or above grade level, and build their confidence along the way.

Homeschool Students

Teaching a child to read, especially a child who is struggling, is very different from teaching a child about history or science!  It’s the most important life skill a child needs to learn, and once they are independent readers, they will be able to learn their other subjects independently as well!  Teaching a child to read requires a specific skill set and sometimes the patience of “another teacher” instead of a parent - it typically is the subject that causes the most friction with homeschool students!  When we work with homeschool parents & students, we consider it a partnership.  We respect that you are the first teacher of your child, and work with you too, so you understand the concepts we are teaching and can work alongside our teachers if you’d like to.  We work with hundreds of homeschool students and take this part off the parents’ plate so they can focus on the other subjects.  Our small groups also serve as some social time for homeschooled students - they enjoy meeting other students from around the country and even develop friendships with them - we’ve even had students become penpals by the end of their reading journey!

Investment

We discuss program investment individually, as it is dependent on where your child assesses and how much time they will need in the program to work towards grade level reading. Literacy Tree’s cost is comparable to other, less qualified tutoring programs,  however the teachers on our team are expert reading specialists, certified in evidence-based literacy and the Science of Reading, with decades of experience specifically working with struggling readers.  Most other tutoring programs hire unqualified tutors to teach a program that is not science-based and proven.  This is why many of our clients are now working with us after spending lost time and money on programs that didn’t work.

If your child is accepted as a good fit to join a Literacy Tree class, Literacy Tree offers financing solutions so that most families are able to work with us using a payment plan .
