Dr. LaTonya Slater has been in education for the past 19 years. She is a 2003 graduate of The University of Mississippi with a major in elementary education.  She continued her education to earn a master’s degree in curriculum, specialist in educational leadership, and a Ph.D. in elementary education and curriculum and instruction. Dr. Slater is certified to teach literacy at the elementary level, and has an endorsement in special education as well. She currently lives in Mississippi and serves as an instructional coach at an elementary school that serves students grade 3-5. She has experience teaching reading and writing  to students in 3rd and 6th grade, as well as leading teacher learning sessions in the areas of literacy and writing.
