Sarah Keyes
Sarah Keyes has been an educator in Upstate NY for over 15 years. For most of that time she has been a 2nd grade teacher in a large suburban school district. As a primary teacher, Sarah has always been passionate about helping her students grow as readers and writers through her literacy instruction. For the past two years, Sarah has been a member of her District’s Literacy Committee. While serving on this committee, she most recently helped with selecting a new reading program to be implemented across the district’s 8 elementary schools.
When Sarah’s younger son was diagnosed with Dyslexia in 2018, she saw first hand how a Structured Literacy program could systematically teach a child to read. Through this experience, she learned how Structured Literacy can help all readers, not just those struggling with language-based learning disabilities and her passion to help others grew.
Sarah and her family enjoy spending time outdoors, especially in the Adirondack Mountains where they can be found hiking, skiing, boating or relaxing with a good book.
